• To grant an efficient and accountable way of managing the project through effective management and decision-making structures, while retaining a high level of representation and transparency, both with regard o the scientific and the financial aspects.
  • To carry out, on behalf of the beneficiaries, the specific coordination tasks laid down in the Grant Agreement (GA) with the Commission, covering all scientific, technical, organizational and financial aspects.

Description of work and role of partners
The following aspects can be distinguished in the management activities: organizational activities and actions undertaken to disseminate, promote and exploit the knowledge connected with the project.

1. Organizational activities
They consist of:

  • promotional activities towards the spokespersons of the work packages (activity leaders), to further the implementation of the work packages, to monitor their progress, to monitor the expenditures according to the implementation plan, to foster the flow of information within the project;
  • contacts with the persons in charge for administrative and scientific aspects for each beneficiary;
  • contacts with the Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee (NuPECC), presenting reports and
  • receiving advices on the progress of the project;
  • contacts with the Commission - Project Officer, Financial Officer, Legal Offices, others - for discussions related the management of the project;
  • contacts with the community - members of the collaborations, Directors of Institutes, researchers;
  • implementation of the managerial bodies which constitute the managerial structure of the project;
  • organization of periodical meetings of the managerial bodies:

- Management Board (3 per year)- Dissemination Board (2 per year)
- Governing Board (1 per year)

  • Preparation of the Periodic Reports to the Commission;
  • Other activities.

2. Actions undertaken to disseminate, promote and exploit the knowledge connected to and derived from the project
The main objectives in the dissemination effort are:

  • to achieve visibility for the project and its findings across Europe and worldwide, within the scientific ommunity and also outside;
  • to encourage the view that the pursuit of hadron physics is important, scientifically and culturally;
  • to promote the awareness of science as “part of the fabric of society”;
  • to gain increased knowledge and sharing of HadronPhysics3 activities and achievements in the society of science and new technologies;
  • to recruit and encourage the next generation of scientists.

The actions undertaken by the management are:

  • presentation of the project in International Conferences and Workshops;
  • presentation of the project and its progress to NuPECC;
  • presentation of the project in restricted and public seminaries, organized by the major European rganizations;
  • co-sponsorships of International Conferences and Workshops covering subjects related to the scientific objectives of the project;
  • cooperation with European Centres of excellence in the field of hadron physics, theory and experiments:

- identification of common fields of cooperation considered as beneficial for both, such as the co-organization f workshops focused on subjects having a direct relationship with the activities of the project;

  • promotion of actions to be performed within the individual organizations to publicize research activities and ts recent achievements and the knowledge derived from the project;
  • implementation of the project website:

The HadronPhysics3 project is supported by the European Union
under the 7th Framework Capacities Programme in the area of Research Infrastructures (RI).
